About the SPE Workshop in Arctic Norway

The SPE Northern Norway Section held the first annual SPE Workshop in Arctic Norway 2013. The aim is to make this the best technical conference for discussing challenges in the Norwegian Arctic Shelf - the Northern part of the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea. In 2016 the workshop changed its name to SPE Norwegian Arctic Subsurface and Drilling Challenges Workshop organized by the section and SPE International. SPE International will continue organizing this on even years, and the SPE Northern Norway Section will continue with the local workshop in the odd years.

Regular topics for this workshop will be petroleum engineering, logistics, political impact, harsh climate and lowering expenses in exploration and field development.

In addition to high quality technical presentations, the SPE Workshop in Arctic Norway shall create networks over delicious food served by one of Harstad's top restaurants.
